Video case study released…
We recently met up with ex Nugent House School student, Jamie Owen and his climbing coach Mark McGowan, in North Wales to produce a short film about climbing, coaching and Jamie’s time at the school.
An autistic person and an accomplished climber, since leaving NHS Jamie has been part of Team GB Paraclimbing team, climbed at competition level and has scaled the Eiger and the Matterhorn.
In the film Jamie talks with Mark about developing his climbing skills and his personal challenges after leaving school.
Jamie is an inspiring young man, and an advocate for autistic young people through Autism at Height, which he and Mark developed to raise awareness of autism in adventure, as well as raising funds to organise more projects to share the benefits of climbing as therapy for autism.
